We are glad to be able to offer help and support at this difficult time. Our funeral directors often have generations of experience working with local families to arrange funerals for loved ones, and the first person to speak to after a death is a funeral director. We are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a week.
You may not realise how many practical tasks there are to do when someone dies. It can be difficult to find information that covers every set of circumstances, therefore, please call the free National Bereavement Service on 0808 164 2239 for any further information or advice.
The helpline is available Monday to Friday 9:00am – 6:00pm and Saturday 10:00am – 2:00pm. If we don’t know the answer we will find out and call you back or tell you who to contact for what you need.
National Bereavement Service offers support, signposting and legal guidance following a bereavement, helping you with probate, as well as offering advice to anyone planning ahead with a free will/estate planning review in the comfort of your own home, telephone or via video call. The service is completely free of charge to callers and requires no commitment to use any of the service they may introduce to you.
There is also NBS live chat which connects you to a trained team member. The chat window will pop up in the bottom right-hand corner of this page. It’s a useful alternative to speaking on the phone for anyone who may feel uncomfortable making a phone call or wants to chat anonymously.
There are many other organisations that provide a variety of practical information or emotional support after a bereavement:
